Mid-week employee workplace visits in Manhattan office buildings have reached an average of 73% of their comparable levels prior to the pandemic, according to a report from the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). The mid-week (Tuesday-Thursday) visitation rate analysis was based on Placer.ai location data for the first 16 weeks of 2023.
The report also compared employee visits to total office building visits, including those from employees plus other uses such as retail, schools, medical facilities and entertainment. When accounting for these other uses in addition to employees visiting during mid-week days (Tuesday – Thursday), it narrowed the gap between Monday and Friday visitation rates. “This report makes even clearer that employee visitation rates continue to rebound strongly during mid-week days while total office building visitations are also growing throughout the week despite hybrid work policies,” said Keith DeCoster, director of market data and policy at REBNY.
