Dart Interests has acquired Fort Worth’s Central Library for $18 million. The library, which had seen a steady decline in visits, was closed in May and will be demolished to make way for a mixed-use development. Christopher Kelsey of Dart Interests commented on the acquisition saying they look forward to working with the city and its downtown residents and workforce “to bring to life a development that gives more people the opportunity to live, work, play, and experience all that Fort Worth has to offer.”
A JLL team headed by Todd Burnette and David Berzina were engaged by the city for sale oversight as well as potential redevelopment of this 250 thousand square foot property spanning three floors. Berzina noted big changes are expected including 20-story buildings adding an iconic appeal to Ft. Worth’s skyline while ushering fresh opportunities into area growth.
