QTS Realty Trust is expanding its presence in the Phoenix area with a new 3 million square foot campus. Known as QTS PHX 3, this development will consist of 16 buildings, each spanning 180,000 square feet. The site for this project spans over an impressive 375 acres at Camelback Road and Loop 303 in Glendale.
Adjacent to the site will be a substation covering approximately29 acres. With plans for up to750 MW of power capacity, enough to supply electricity for120,000 homes,the Phoenix Journal reports that QTS purchased the land two years ago at a cost of $255 million.This marks their third location in the Phoenix metro area;the other two are located at120040th St.and120 E.Van Buren.
According to their website,QTS Glendale has been meticulously designedto accommodate rapid and large-scale deployments,making it oneof themost flexible and efficient campusesinthe region.The construction process is expected totake several yearsandwill be completed through multiple phases.QTShas recently come under ownership by private equity firm Blackstone Inc., further solidifying its position as an industry leader.
