"Publix Invests $25M in Durham Shopping Center Lot"

Publix, a popular grocery chain, recently made a significant investment in the Durham area by purchasing two lots at the Marketplace at Ellis Crossing for over $25 million. The purchased land includes 16.41 acres and houses a newly opened Publix store.

This new location marks Publix’s 10th store in the Triangle region and its first in Durham. The lot also includes additional out-parcels and surrounding land.

The Marketplace at Ellis Crossing is a mixed-use development developed by Thompson Thrift spanning over 30 acres off of Ellis Road near Interstate 885.

The newly opened Publix spans an impressive 46,791 square feet and has created job opportunities for approximately130 associates. This purchase highlights Publix’s commitment to expanding its presence in thriving areas like Durham.
