Public Input Wanted for San Diego Seaport Redevelopment by Port of San Diego

The Port of San Diego is inviting the public to review and provide input on what should be studied as part of the environmental review process for its proposed Seaport San Diego redevelopment. In 2016, a development team was selected to redevelop a large portion of the Central Embarcadero including Seaport Village, Tuna Harbor, Embarcadero Marina Park North and Ruocco Park. The Port is responsible for preparing an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for this project.

1HWY1’s proposal includes extensive plazas, parks and promenades; piers and marinas; hospitality establishments such as retail stores and restaurants; commercial fishing uses; multiple visitor attractions like an urban beach or educational facilities spread across 39 acres of land plus 63 acres water area.

To gather feedback from stakeholders about this project two public scoping meetings are scheduled: one in-person meeting on September 27th followed by a virtual one on September 28th with written comments accepted until October 16th.
