"Proposed Queens Resort-Casino Renderings Revealed by Steve Cohen and Hard Rock"

On Wednesday, New York Mets owner Steve Cohen and Hard Rock International revealed new designs for Metropolitan Park, a $8-billion project that will transform empty parking lots near Citi Field in Queens into a state-of-the-art casino. The development, which is being privately funded, has entered the ULURP (Uniform Land Use Review Procedure) process for public approval and is one of several proposals competing for a downstate casino license from New York State.

According to Cohen: “It’s time for the greatest city in the world to have an exceptional sports and entertainment park. When I acquired this team, fans and community members expressed their desire for improvement. Metropolitan Park fulfills our promise of creating a shared space that not only attracts visitors but also instills pride.”

The plan includes a live music venue as well as a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino with sports betting at its core. These amenities will be surrounded by new public parks and upgraded transportation options to improve access to the area.
