**Notable Huntersville Retail Center Listed for Sale**
Ownership group North American Properties, Nuveen, and Jamestown has listed Birkdale Village, a prominent mixed-use development in Huntersville, NC, for sale after acquiring the property last year. The retail center is now on the market with Newmark serving as the listing broker, though the asking price has not been disclosed.
Originally developed in 2001 and renovated in 2020, Birkdale Village spans 670,000 square feet and features a diverse mix of national retailers. High-profile tenants include Apple, Lululemon, Pottery Barn, The Cheesecake Factory, and Williams Sonoma.
The 50-acre property also includes 255,000 square feet of retail, a 320-unit multifamily component, and more than 50,000 square feet of office space. The ownership group recently obtained entitlements for further development approved by the Huntersville Board of Commissioners. These entitlements allow for the addition of a hotel, additional multifamily units, 26,000 square feet of new retail space, and a new office building—moves that could significantly enhance the property’s long-term value.
