**Birkdale Village Retail Center Listed for Sale**

The ownership group of North American Properties, Nuveen, and Jamestown is putting Birkdale Village back on the market after acquiring the property last year. The retail center is being listed by Newmark, although the asking price has not been disclosed.

Located in Huntersville, North Carolina, Birkdale Village encompasses a total of 670,000 square feet. Originally developed in 2001 and renovated in 2020, the mixed-use property is anchored by a number of high-profile retail tenants, including Apple, Lululemon, Pottery Barn, The Cheesecake Factory, and Williams Sonoma.

The 50-acre site consists of more than just retail. In addition to the 255,000 square feet of retail space, Birkdale Village also includes a 320-unit multifamily community and over 50,000 square feet of office space, making it a significant mixed-use development in the region.

Recently, the ownership group secured entitlements that allow for further expansion of the center. Approved rezoning by the Huntersville Board of Commissioners paves the way for the development of a hotel, additional multifamily units, a 26,000-square-foot retail expansion, and a new office building. These upgrades are expected to further enhance the property’s value and appeal to prospective buyers.
