Prologis, a leading player in the industrial real estate market, has put forward a proposal to acquire the former headquarters of the Oakland Raiders in Alameda for $24 million. The offer includes plans to retain long-term tenants such as the Oakland Roots and Soul soccer teams while also considering potential industrial use for the site. According to reports from San Francisco Business Times, Prologis presented this offer to both Oakland city officials and Alameda County after they became joint owners of the two-building property following Raiders’ relocation to Las Vegas.
At an upcoming council meeting, members of Oakland City Council will vote on whether or not they should enter into negotiations with Prologis and its affiliate company, Oakland Pro Soccer LLC. Since 2021, The Roots have been leasing space at this location as their training facility.
Previously reported by Business Times was that two other companies were also vying for ownership of this property through negotiations with Alameda County Board of Supervisors – one being Roots & Soul themselves – however according to a report from city staff in charge of overseeing these transactions stated that it was ultimately Prologis’ offer which stood out among multiple purchase offers received by both parties (city & county).
