Skybox Datacenters and Prologis have announced plans to develop a massive 600-megawatt campus near Austin, Texas. The Skybox PowerCampus Austin will offer up to 4 million square feet of data center space in Hutto, located 25 miles north of Downtown Austin. Scheduled for completion in 2024, the project is situated next to a 345 kV transmission corridor and two private 300 megawatt (MW) dedicated substations – making it one of the most scalable data center campuses in the United States. 6-8 buildings are planned with 24 MW, 48 MW or 72 MW options available; the latter design calls for a three-story building spanning 700k sq ft.
