Principle Construction has successfully completed the tenant improvement for Apres Pastry & Bakery, located in downtown Lake Zurich, Illinois. The bakery occupies the last remaining space in a mixed-use building constructed by Principle in 2023.
According to Mark Augustyn, COO of Principle and executive on this project, this development further elevates the area’s prestige and revitalization efforts with the addition of a much-needed bakery business.
The buildout included a new common entrance and pedestrian access corridor as well as custom-designed features such as a cloud ceiling, specialty lighting, flooring, and millwork. To support the baking operations’ specialized equipment needs, enhanced mechanical systems were incorporated along with upgraded electrical systems for fire protection and plumbing.
Leading Principle’s team on this project was Andrew Mackintosh serving as project manager while Dave Plunkett acted as superintendent. Muran Architects provided architectural design services while Siren Betty designed the interior space.
