# PowerHouse and Provident Partner on Grand Prairie Data Center Project

PowerHouse Data Centers, a division of American Real Estate Partners (AREP), and Provident Data Centers are collaborating on a significant hyperscale data center project in northern Ellis County, Texas. The development will feature a 1.8-gigawatt switchyard, with the first 500-megawatt tranche already approved through ERCOT.

Spanning 768 acres just outside Grand Prairie, this campus marks the inaugural project for the recently announced joint venture between PowerHouse and Provident. Strategically positioned between Dallas and Fort Worth at the heart of the Metroplex, the data center will include 24 buildings across three development phases. The first building is expected to be operational by May 2026. With the site already rezoned, all necessary approvals and permits have been secured, and design and engineering work is currently underway.

This project represents PowerHouse’s second Texas venture, following the announcement of a 200-megawatt facility in the Irving area of Dallas last year. Provident, meanwhile, has a growing footprint in Texas, with projects in Grand Prairie, Fort Worth, Irving, Plano, Dallas, and Austin.
