PowerHouse Acquires 145 Acres for Data Center Construction

PowerHouse Data Centers, a joint venture between American Real Estate Partners (AREP) and Harrison Street, has acquired 145 acres in Spotsylvania, Virginia for the development of their new data center campus. This strategic location places PowerHouse 95 at the heart of one of northern Virginia’s fastest-growing data center markets.

According to Michael Hochanadel, managing director and head of digital at Harrison Street, this acquisition is another successful collaboration between Harrison Street and PowerHouse. It showcases their ability to identify top-quality solutions for hyperscale clients.

This purchase comes on the heels of PowerHouse’s recent acquisition in Reno and adds to their portfolio which includes four developments currently underway in northern Virginia with a combined capacity exceeding 700 MW. The site will feature three substations each capable of delivering up to 300 MW power supply. The first substation is expected to provide an initial capacity of 150 MW by October 2025.
