According to the Boston Business Journal, toy company Hasbro Inc. is contemplating a move from their current headquarters in Pawtucket, RI to Boston. This potential relocation could provide a boost to downtown Boston’s ongoing recovery while also having an impact on the business community in Rhode Island.
Sources familiar with the matter have revealed that Hasbro has been touring various office buildings in downtown Boston as part of their search for new space. These sources have requested anonymity.
As one of the largest toy manufacturers globally, Hasbro is seeking between 200,000 and 250,000 square feet of office space – a significant amount especially given today’s post-COVID market conditions. The company has also explored options outside of central Boston such as suburban areas.
In response to inquiries by the Business Journal , a spokesperson for Hasbro stated that they are considering different options for their global headquarters as they continue to evolve and ensure it meets all necessary requirements for employees, partners and overall business operations moving forward.
