Plug and Play is set to open an AI Center of Excellence in Seattle, along with the launch of the $40 million SBI US Gateway Fund, a Co-GP fund focused on early-stage startup investments.

The Silicon Valley-based innovation platform will host a launch event for one of two AI centers it plans to establish in the Seattle area. The first center will be located at CoMotion Labs, a technology incubator on the University of Washington’s Seattle campus. This initiative is a collaboration between Plug and Play, SBI Holdings, SNBL, and UW CoMotion.

The second AI center will be located in Everett, north of Seattle, within a facility operated by SNBL, a Japanese research company specializing in drug development and medical technology. Plug and Play’s AI Centers of Excellence aim to position regions as leaders in artificial intelligence by creating strategic hubs that link local innovation with global opportunities.

“The Pacific Northwest is home to a dynamic and rapidly growing tech ecosystem, and we are excited to contribute to this community by supporting the next generation of innovative companies,” said Saeed Amidi, founder and CEO of Plug and Play.
