A mixed-use development in Plantation is moving forward as Related Group and BH Group collaborate on the project.
According to a report from the South Florida Business Journal, the new development, called Plantation City Center, will cover 13.7 acres at 8601 W. Sunrise Blvd. The site was previously occupied by an AT&T training center and will now be transformed into a vibrant community with residential units, commercial space, and ample parking.
The plan has been approved by the city council of Plantation and includes 512 residential units, 24,970 square feet of commercial space,and 833 parking spaces. In total,the project will span over860 thousand square feetand feature an eight-story apartment building,five three-story multifamily buildings,two stand-alone retail buildings,and a row of two-story townhouses.
One notable aspect of this development is that it includes51 workforce housing units for individuals earning up to120%of themedian incomeinthe area.Plantation City Centerwill also offer23 thousand square feetof lobby/interior amenities such as pools,a pickleball court,and playgrounds for outdoor recreation.
