According to a report from the S. Florida Business Journal, Related Group and BH Group have received approval to move forward with their mixed-use development in Plantation. The project, known as Plantation City Center, will cover 13.7 acres at 8601 W. Sunrise Blvd., replacing a former AT&T training center that spanned over 130,550 square feet (see photo). The city council has given the green light for the plan which includes 512 residential units, 24,970 square feet of commercial space and parking for up to 833 vehicles.
The entire project will cover an area of approximately 860,283 square feet and feature an eight-story apartment building along with five three-story multifamily buildings. Additionally there will be two stand-alone retail buildings and a row of two-story townhouses included in the development.
In order to provide affordable housing options within this upscale community ,the developers have committed to including at least fifty-one units designated as workforce housing for individuals earning up to one hundred twenty percent of the median income in this area.
Plantation City Center is also set include extensive amenities such as lobby/interior spaces totaling over twenty-three thousand four hundred fifty-six square feet along with outdoor features like two pools,a pickleball court,and playgrounds designed specifically for residents’ enjoyment.
Related Group and BH group acquired this property back in2023for $13 million dollars.The Miami-based architectural firm Arquitectonica has been tasked with designing this impressive new additiontothe community’s landscape.
