NTT Global Data Centers Americas Inc. is considering a 225,000-square-foot data center in Lancaster. The potential location for this facility is a 108-acre plot of land at the intersection of Sunrise and Belt Line roads. Recently, the Lancaster City Council approved an economic development agreement for this project that includes certain incentives.
According to the agreement, NTT must occupy the data center by January 2028 and contribute at least $50,000 annually towards city-sponsored events or improvement projects. Additionally, they are required to create a minimum of 27 jobs with an average salary of $80,000.
The deal allows NTT up to six months to finalize their purchase of the site.
If developed as planned, this project would have an estimated taxable value of around $110 million; however if additional buildings are constructed on-site by NTT in future phases it could increase up to approximately $250 million.
In exchange for meeting all requirements outlined in the agreement over ten years time period from completion date (January 2028), NTT will be eligible for real and business property tax rebates from local authorities.
