"Planning for a $4.5B Data Center Campus in Bartow County"

Atlas Development is currently working on a project called “Project Springbank,” which involves the development of a $4.5 billion data center. The proposed facility will be situated southeast of Adairsville, near Perkins Mountain Road, approximately an hour northwest of Atlanta.

According to reports from the Atlanta Business Chronicle, this is the same developer that recently submitted plans for another data center project called “Project Sail” in Coweta County worth $17 billion.

For their Bartow County venture, Atlas Development intends to construct six buildings spanning 379,000 square feet each and utilizing around 72 megawatts of power. As we know, data centers have high energy demands and are expected to account for nearly 83% of Georgia Power’s electricity demand from potential new customers until at least 2037.

Water usage is also a significant concern for this project. It has been estimated that the Bartow County campus will require about 15,000 gallons per day; however it plans on using closed-loop water technology to minimize its impact on local water resources and sewage systems.

The anticipated completion date for this ambitious undertaking is set for late-2031.
