Planning a Move to Port Houston Headquarters

Port Houston is planning a move to its new headquarters, located on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. This thriving economic driver will be leaving its current administrative building at Turning Basin Terminal, which is expected to be demolished in order to accommodate cargo operations at City Docks. Working with Houston-based real estate company Midway, the six-floor facility will encompass 96,000 square feet of office space and include a linked 300-space parking garage. Port Houston staff occupying this office will consist of public relations personnel, legal advisors, accountants and business equity experts as well as those working in economic development and human resources departments – all set to relocate by summer 2025.
The relocation marks an important milestone for Port Houston; early trade along Buffalo Bayou eventually led to the nation’s number one waterway – The Houston Ship Channel – supporting more than 1.35 million Texas jobs today.
