**Construction Underway for Seabrook Town Center Mixed-Use Development on Galveston Bay**
Construction has begun on Seabrook Town Center, a 19.5-acre mixed-use project located in Seabrook along Galveston Bay. The development will feature a 320-unit apartment community alongside 28,500 square feet of space for retail, restaurants, and offices.
HS Development Group, the project’s developer, acquired the property in 2022 and has since been securing financing, entitlements, and necessary permits. NHK Real Estate Investments has joined as an equity partner, while First Horizon Bank is providing construction financing for the approximately $85 million project.
Plans for the development include two buildings designated for retail and dining, totaling roughly 20,000 square feet—currently 55% pre-leased. Additional components include a 7,500-square-foot building near State Highway 146, a 5,000-square-foot structure facing Lakeside Drive, and four pad sites along Highway 146.
The residential component, to be named The Edge at Seabrook Town Centre, is expected to be built within eight to nine months. Full completion of the entire development is slated for the second quarter of 2028.
