The Picklr, a Utah-based company specializing in pickleball venues, has selected Fox River Commons in Naperville, Illinois as the location for its first facility in the greater Chicago area. The company plans to open 500 pickleball locations nationwide.
A lease agreement was recently signed between The Picklr and Continental Realty Corporation (CRC) for 27,333 square feet of space within the shopping center. This new venue is set to open next year and will be managed by a combination of corporate and franchise ownership. Cherene Keenan of CRC represented the landlord while Carter Randall of PPC Commercial represented The Picklr in this transaction.
With pickleball’s growing popularity and demand for indoor courts on the rise, The Picklr aims to expand nationally through both corporate-owned facilities as well as franchises. In just three years, they have opened seven facilities with six more currently under construction set to open soon. Additionally, agreements are already in place for approximately 80 new locations across 12 states including Illinois.
