Phoenix Fiesta Mall Demolished to Make Way for Mixed-Use Development

Verde Investments is spearheading the redevelopment of Phoenix’s Fiesta Mall, which has been shuttered since the 1980s. Demolition for the project is underway and plans are in motion to combine multifamily housing with commercial options. Nelsen Partners, an architectural firm that worked on Paradise Valley Mall’s redevelopment, was hired by Verde as project designer.

Though specific plans have yet to be submitted to Mesa city officials, Verde estimates that up to 4,000 new apartments and homes could fit at the site along with a variety of retail and commercial components. The potential for this mixed-use development will bring much needed revitalization back into this area of Phoenix after years of vacancy from Fiesta Mall’s closure in its heyday during the ‘80s when online shopping began taking off across America causing malls nationwide struggle financially ever since then.
