Phoenix Fiesta Mall Demolished, to be Reborn as Mixed-Use Development

Verde Investments is leading the redevelopment of the 80-acre parcel formerly known as Fiesta Mall in Mesa, Arizona. The now-shuttered mall will be replaced with a mixed-use project that could include up to 4,000 apartments and homes plus retail and commercial components. Nelsen Partners has been hired as project designer; they previously worked on Paradise Valley Mall’s redevelopment. Renderings have been created to illustrate Verde’s vision for the site.

The demolition of Fiesta Mall marks yet another example of how shopping habits are changing in America: more people are shopping online than ever before, causing malls across the country to struggle or close altogether. However, this new development shows that these sites can still be repurposed into something beneficial for their communities – multifamily housing combined with commercial options offers an exciting opportunity for growth and progress in Mesa!
