The Cordish Companies and Comcast Spectacor have announced a $15 million upgrade to Xfinity Live! and the surrounding community plaza. According to Blake Cordish, Principal of The Cordish Companies, this project will enhance the overall experience at Xfinity Live! and solidify its position as the heart of Philadelphia’s Sports Complex for years to come.
The expansion will involve both external and internal improvements at Xfinity Live!, with a special focus on transforming the plaza into a two-story building that will feature the AVA Rooftop Bar. This is part of an ongoing effort by Phil Laws, Chief Operating Officer of Wells Fargo Center, to enhance not only Xfinity Live!, but also other areas within the Sports Complex. He believes that this expansion is just one step towards creating a world-class sports and entertainment district that operates year-round.
In addition to these plans for Xfinity Live!, The Cordish Companies has already invested over $800 million in developing Philadelphia’s Sports Complex with their latest project being the opening of their new casino & hotel in 2021. With these exciting developments underway, it’s clear that there are big things ahead for Philadelphia’s entertainment district.
