Henderson Park has acquired the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens from Brookfield Asset Management for a price exceeding $400 million, according to a source familiar with the transaction. The deal includes partnerships with Salamander Connection and South Street Partners, with Jones Day advising the buyers and Eastdil Secured working with the sellers.
Located at 1000 Avenue of Champions, this resort boasts 360 guest rooms, 99 holes of golf designed by top professionals, a luxurious spa spanning over 40,000 square feet created by V-Star architects and designers. Additionally, the property offers six restaurants as well as an impressive sports and racquet club.
Originally developed in 1981 on an expansive area of land measuring over 800 acres, the PGA National Resort is home to one of Florida’s most prestigious annual events -the Cognizant Classic hosted by none other than the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Tour. However,in recent years, this renowned organization has relocated its headquarters from Frisco back to its original location at this stunning resort.
Interestingly enough, this property was last sold for $217 million towards late-2018 when Brookfield Asset Management took ownership before launching renovations worth approximately $100 million. Now under new management,Henderson Park plans on continuing these upgrades while maintaining its reputation as one of S.Florida’s premier destinations for luxury relaxation, vibrant entertainment, and world-class golfing experiences.
