Procter & Gamble Co. has committed to constructing a new plant in Coolidge, Arizona with an estimated cost of $500 million. The facility will primarily produce fabric care products such as Tide PODS, Downy Unstopables and Bounce dryer sheets. Located between Phoenix and Tucson, Coolidge is the chosen location for this project.
The company’s plan includes building a 2 million-square-foot complex that will provide employment opportunities for 500 individuals. This site is strategically located next to Nikola Corp.’s electric vehicle factory and P&G has already invested $53 million to acquire 430 acres of land for its development. The proposed structure consists of a total area spanning over 358,957 square feet which comprises manufacturing space (162,798 sq ft), warehouse space (172,924 sq ft) and office space (12,607 sq ft).
P&G’s current focus is on setting up essential infrastructure like water supply systems, power grids and rail lines at the site before commencing construction activities on the facility itself. In addition to being easily accessible from Interstate-10 highway network connecting major cities in Arizona , this location also provides access to Union Pacific rail lines – making it an ideal choice for P&G’s operations in this region.
