A new Class-A student housing community, The Valiant, is set to be developed near the University of California at Berkeley through a joint venture between Canyon Partners Real Estate LLC, The Martin Group and Valiance Capital. Construction will begin immediately and is expected to be completed before the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. To finance this project, the JV has secured a senior construction loan from Kennedy Wilson.
Located at 2538 Durant Ave., just one block from UC Berkeley’s main entrance, The Valiant will consist of eight stories with 83 apartment units and 262 beds. It will also feature 1,461 square feet of retail space. Stephen Siri from The Martin Group expressed excitement about this partnership with Valiance Capital and their experienced development team as well as working alongside Canyon Partners and Kennedy Wilson on another student housing project that boasts a prime location and sustainable design.
