Pacific Science Center Apartment Project: Grousemont Plans

Grousemont Associates, a Seattle-based developer, has revealed plans to construct an apartment building on the site of the parking garage adjacent to Pacific Science Center. According to Puget Sound Business Journal, local design company Mithun is responsible for the architecture and construction could begin as soon as 2024.

The existing garage will be demolished and replaced with underground parking in accordance with zoning regulations which permit buildings up to 85 feet tall with certain incentives for additional height. The two-thirds acre site is being considered for a 150 unit project by Grousemont.

In 2019, Pacific Science Center sold their garage property at Denny Way and Second Avenue to PacSci Garage LLC for $13.9 million . Grousemont holds majority ownership while David Wright – investor of Seattle NHL’s Kraken team and Space Needle board member – serves as minority owner/managing member of said company
