Origin Investments Closes Second Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund at Over $300 Million

Origin Investments, a leading real estate fund manager headquartered in Chicago, has successfully closed its second Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund (QOZ Fund II) after raising more than $300 million. The close of QOZ Fund II follows the firm’s successful raise of more than $264 million for its predecessor.

To date, Origin’s QOZ Fund II has committed to seven different ground-up multifamily rental developments expected to total over 2,500 units across Atlanta, Colorado Springs, Jacksonville, Nashville and Tampa. The portfolio is anticipated to include several additional ground-up rental developments when fully invested. Additionally the firm plans on launching their third fund within the next 60 – 90 days.

Michael Episcope co-CEO at Origin Investments commented: “Our ability to raise an impressive sum of over $564 million for opportunity zone funds demonstrates a perpetual demand for investment vehicles that seek high returns with unique tax advantages.”
