**Oracle Expands Nashville Presence with $60M River North Acquisition**
Oracle has acquired a River North property from GBT Realty Corp. for $60 million. This marks another major investment in the area following Oracle’s June 2021 purchase of more than 65 acres of East Bank land for $253.7 million, intended for its future campus along the Cumberland River.
Despite the substantial land acquisitions, construction on Oracle’s planned $1.35 billion riverfront office campus has yet to begin, with no official start date announced. Oracle aims to employ 8,500 people in Nashville by the end of 2031.
According to the *Nashville Business Journal*, Oracle’s tech campus represents the largest economic development deal in the city and state’s history. Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison has identified the site as the company’s future world headquarters and has hired renowned architect Norman Foster to design the campus on 70 acres along the East Bank.
Since its founding in 1987, GBT Realty Corp. has been involved in the development, construction, leasing, management, and acquisition of over 40 million square feet of commercial properties. Their portfolio includes grocery-anchored shopping centers, neighborhood centers, single-tenant buildings, regional power centers, and mixed-use developments, representing more than $8 billion in real estate investments.
