OPEN Impact Real Estate has arranged a long-term lease for Launch Expeditionary Learning Charter School at a purpose-built educational campus in Brooklyn. The 15-year lease covers approximately 77,000 square feet at 5902 Sixth Ave. in the Sunset Park neighborhood, securing a permanent home for Launch High School within one of Brooklyn’s limited number of dedicated school campuses.
The leased premises include a 60,728-square-foot school building along with shared access to a 16,000-square-foot, regulation-size gymnasium. The gym and campus are owned by the Redemptorist Fathers of New York, who control the broader property. The arrangement provides Launch High School with a consolidated educational setting and access to on-site athletic facilities that are already configured for institutional use.
The property had been originally occupied by Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy. Under the new lease, Launch High School plans to relocate its operations to the Sunset Park campus in July 2027. Prior to the move, the facility is slated to receive a series of improvements designed to modernize the building while maintaining its longstanding role as an educational asset.
Tenant representation in the transaction was handled by OPEN Impact Real Estate. Jake Cinti and Eshaan Gandhi of the firm represented Launch Expeditionary Learning Charter School in securing the long-term occupancy. Their assignment focused on aligning the school’s space needs with a campus configuration already tailored to classroom and institutional use.
On the ownership side, the Redemptorist Fathers of New York were represented by a leasing team from Cushman & Wakefield. The brokerage team included Frank Liantonio, Jason Kroger, Jonathan Squires, Josh Neustadter and Austin Weiner. Their role encompassed marketing the campus and negotiating lease terms with the charter school tenant.
Once completed, the planned improvements and relocation will extend the educational use of the Sunset Park property, continuing its legacy as a school campus while positioning Launch High School to occupy the site under a 15-year commitment.
