Hensel Phelps Construction Co. is serving as the general contractor for a major project at Apple Inc.’s new campus located at 6900 W. Parmer Lane, with an estimated cost of $400 million.
According to the Austin Business Journal, construction is currently underway on several buildings including a four-story structure spanning 200,000 square feet, a multi-story building covering 300,000 square feet and another five-story building totaling 370,000 square feet. In addition to these structures, there will also be a parking garage measuring over one million square feet.
Based on public filings and projections from experts in the industry,the total cost of this project could exceed $400 million and it is expected to reach completion by June next year.
The design firms responsible for this development are HKS Inc. and KAI Design; both renowned names in their field.Apple has already completed some portions of its new campus which was first announced back in2019 as part of an initial investment worth $1 billion.The company has stated that this sprawling facility spread across133 acres could potentially accommodate up to15 ,000 employees upon completion.
