**Old-Line Steakhouse Pietro’s Returning to Midtown in New Location**
Pietro’s Ristorante, a classic Midtown Manhattan steakhouse that lost its lease last summer, is set to make a comeback. The restaurant will reopen this June at 890 Second Avenue in a new location secured by Stellar Management, with the lease arranged through a partnership between Lee & Associates NYC and Cushman & Wakefield.
Originally founded in 1932 by brothers Natale and Pietro Donini, Pietro’s had been a dining fixture at 232 East 43rd Street since 1984. The new Turtle Bay location will include 3,564 square feet of ground-floor space along with 1,458 square feet on the lower level. The restaurant has signed a 15-year lease for the space.
“Seeking a turnkey space near its previous location on 43rd Street, Pietro’s aimed to continue serving its loyal customer base,” said Cory Gahr, managing director at Lee & Associates NYC. “890 Second Avenue presented an ideal opportunity in a competitive market, especially for second-generation restaurant spaces, offering both convenience and strategic positioning for the restaurant’s continued success.”
Sean Moran and Patrick O’Rourke of Cushman & Wakefield represented Stellar Management in the lease negotiations.
In a New York Times article marking the closure of its former location, designer Michael Kors reflected on the atmosphere of Pietro’s, saying, “I’ve always liked that you can still feel some of the ‘Mad Men’ era here. Pietro’s is the last of the Mohicans.”
