OCVIBE, a 100-acre mixed-use district taking shape around Honda Center in Anaheim, has revealed plans for a new standalone live entertainment venue designed to accommodate 5,000 guests. The venue is scheduled to open in early 2027 and is intended to broaden the range of performance options within the emerging district.
The new concert hall has been designed by Populous and is planned with a flexible configuration to support a wide variety of programming. According to the project team, the space is expected to host uses such as concerts, award shows, sporting competitions and private events, positioning it as a multipurpose addition to the OCVIBE lineup.
Once complete, the venue will join an existing and planned roster of performance spaces at OCVIBE. Honda Center, which remains in operation while undergoing a $1 billion transformation, anchors the district today and is being upgraded as part of the broader redevelopment effort. In addition, the historic Golden Bear venue is slated to reopen in 2029, adding another performance option to the cluster of entertainment assets planned within the 100-acre site.
Project representatives describe the growing collection of venues at OCVIBE as an integrated ecosystem designed to support touring artists at different stages of their careers. With capacity levels ranging from the planned 5,000-seat hall to Honda Center and the future Golden Bear, the district is being positioned to accommodate a spectrum of live events.
Katie Pederson, vice president of special events at OCVIBE, said the introduction of new venues and gathering spaces is helping Anaheim emerge as a setting for world-class events within a single connected district. She noted that these additions are intended to bring together large-scale programming and guest experiences in one cohesive location around Honda Center.
Further information on the concert hall, including the official name of the venue and details on its programming lineup, is expected to be released in the coming months. For now, the project team has framed the new hall as a key component in the build-out of OCVIBE’s entertainment offerings, alongside the ongoing transformation of Honda Center and the planned return of the Golden Bear.
