"Obama Presidential Center Reaches Topping Off Milestone"

Former US President Barack Obama celebrated a significant milestone on Monday at the Chicago campus named after him. The tallest structure of the center, known as the Museum Building, has now reached its full height of 225 feet.

Construction on the Obama Presidential Center began almost three years ago and during his visit to the site, President Obama personally thanked and recognized all those involved in bringing this vision to life. Together with construction workers, he signed a beam that will be incorporated into the Sky Room ceiling.

Upon completion, this new landmark on Chicago’s South Side will serve as an anchor for a 19.3-acre campus designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. Progress is also being made at Home Court within the site’s southern end.
