**NYCHA Seeks Private Development Partners to Expand Low-Income Housing**

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is exploring new avenues to expand affordable housing in New York City. The authority has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) to engage with private developers who have active or proposed development projects on private land. This initiative aims to broaden public housing options across all five boroughs by leveraging private partnerships.

A virtual pre-submission conference is scheduled for September 9 to provide additional information to interested parties. Submissions in response to the RFEI will be accepted from October 14 through November 18. All applicants must adhere to the submission guidelines outlined in the RFEI.

“NYCHA is not only the largest landlord in New York City, but also the largest landowner, touching nearly every corner of the five boroughs,” said NYCHA CEO Lisa Bova-Hiatt. “Using all available strategies, we can maximize housing opportunities for NYCHA residents and other low-income New Yorkers and bring a forward-thinking approach to help address the city’s housing crisis in a tangible way.”

This call for collaboration reflects NYCHA’s commitment to innovative solutions that confront the ongoing housing shortage while utilizing city resources more effectively.
