### NTT Data Group Acquires 173 Acres in Mesa for $300M Data Center
NTT Data Group Corp. has purchased 173 acres of land east of Mesa for $300 million to develop a data center. The property, located at the northeast corner of Pecos and Crismon roads, is part of the former GM Proving Grounds. The land was previously owned by Levine Investments and Andrew Cohn, who originally acquired 1,805 acres for $45 million in 2004. The group now retains approximately 580 acres. The deal was negotiated by Nate Nathan and Courtney Buck of Nathan & Associates Inc., along with JLL.
Last fall, the Mesa City Council approved a zoning case for the GM Proving Grounds property, allowing for the development of a data center that could include seven data halls spanning 1.7 million square feet, a 100,000-square-foot warehouse, and a 106,000-square-foot, two-story office building.
This new purchase adds to NTT’s existing presence in Mesa. About four miles north of the newly acquired land, the company already operates a 126,000-square-foot data center, which is expected to be the first of seven data centers on its 102-acre, 240MW campus at 10256 Elliot Road.
