“Northern Virginia’s First WELL Precertified Building Completed by Skanska”

Skanska, a global development and construction firm based in Sweden, has topped out 3901 Fairfax – a nine-story office building located in Arlington, Virginia. The 201,000-square-foot project is targeting LEED Gold certification as well as Core V2 Gold and WiredScore Gold certifications; making it the first WELL Precertified new construction project of its kind in Northern Virginia. The expected completion date for the building is 2024.

Mark Carroll – executive vice president & regional manager of Skanska USA Commercial Development’s D.C market – commented on the unique experience that will be provided to future occupants: “3901 Fairfax will set the standard for meaningful workplaces with its park-like plaza featuring inviting retail space and indoor/outdoor biophilic design.”  In addition to this impressive feat by Skanska within Northern Virginia; they are also currently working on other projects throughout Greater D.C., such as Douglas McArthur elementary school in Alexandria; VHC Health’s Outpatient Pavilion & garage located in Arlington; OZMA – a 12-story mixed-use development with 275 apartments situated within Washington DC; and The Heming – 28 stories tall boasting 410 units located near Tysons Corner .
