"News Building Renews and Expands Partnership with Republic of Brazil"

SL Green Realty Corp. has successfully negotiated a lease renewal and expansion with the Federative Republic of Brazil at the iconic News Building in Midtown Manhattan. The Consulate General has renewed its existing 30,030-square-foot lease and expanded to occupy an additional 23,066 square feet for a total of four entire floors plus part of the ground floor, totaling 65,331 square feet. This more than doubles their original footprint for a term of ten years.

“We are thrilled to continue our strong partnership with the Federative Republic of Brazil,” stated Steven Durels, Executive Vice President and Director of Leasing and Real Property at SL Green. “The News Building’s historic architecture combined with its prime location near Grand Central Terminal and United Nations makes it an ideal home for Superman.”

Cushman & Wakefield represented the Brazilian Mission to the United States in this transaction through Peter Trivelas and Justin Royce while Cushman & Wakefield’s Harry Blair, Tara Stacom Barry Zeller ,and Pierce Hance acted on behalf as representatives for SL Green Realty Corp.
