"NewMark Merrill Launches Venture to Reach Under-Invested Communities"

NewMark Merrill Companies, Inc., a retail shopping center owner and developer based in Calabasas, has launched a new venture called NewMark Merrill Hadler Community Partners. This new venture will focus on acquiring, developing, managing and operating retail centers in under-invested and under-supplied communities. The company was co-founded by Sandy Sigal (president and CEO of NewMark Merrill) and Jermaine McMihelk (former portfolio manager at NewMark Merrill), who will serve as the managing director.

According to McMihelk, their mission is to drive economic success and growth in these communities while also partnering with local leaders to create multi-generational gathering spaces that benefit all aspects of the community. They aim to be known not only as the best operators and investors in these areas but also as innovative, inclusive, and collaborative.

McMihelk brings valuable experience from his previous roles at Primestor Development where he oversaw operations for grocery-anchored shopping centers held in partnership with Federal Realty Investment Trust. He also spent five years at NewMark Merrill before taking on this new role as managing director for their latest venture.
