**Newmark Establishes UK Science and Innovation Practice**
Newmark has announced the formation of its UK Science and Innovation practice, a new initiative based in London. The practice will be led by Paddy Shipp, who, alongside Rupert Dando, will spearhead efforts to support investors, developers, occupiers, and venture capital firms operating in the United Kingdom’s key science and innovation markets.
Together, Shipp and Dando have overseen leasing transactions totaling more than 2.8 million square feet within the sector, bringing deep experience to the new platform. The practice aims to bolster collaboration with Newmark’s existing UK teams, including Planning & Development, Higher Education, Occupier Agency, and Capital Markets, while aligning closely with the firm’s U.S. Life Sciences group. Over the past two years, the U.S. group has completed more than $2.3 billion in transactions and leased over four million square feet of space.
Paddy Shipp joins Newmark from JLL, where he served as Head of UK Life Science Agency. Rupert Dando comes aboard as a Senior Associate from Savills.
This strategic expansion underscores Newmark’s ongoing commitment to tapping into the rapidly growing life sciences and innovation sectors both in the UK and internationally.
