#### Leadership Changes at Newmark Group
With the Senate confirmation of Howard Lutnick as Secretary of Commerce and his departure as executive chairman of Newmark Group, Inc., CEO Barry M. Gosin will assume the additional role of chairman of its operating company, Newmark & Company Real Estate, Inc. Additionally, Stephen Merkel has been named chairman of the board, succeeding Lutnick. Merkel, who has been with Newmark since its acquisition by BGC Partners, Inc., will also continue as Newmark’s EVP and chief legal officer. Kyle Lutnick has also joined the board.
#### Bradford Allen Expands New York Presence
National full-service commercial real estate firm Bradford Allen has announced the addition of Mitzi Flexer as managing director in its New York office. Flexer will play a key role in expanding the firm’s presence across New York City’s outer boroughs. Prior to joining Bradford Allen, she was senior director at Cushman & Wakefield, specializing in strategic leasing and tenant representation.
#### Broadstone Net Lease Appoints New Board Members
Broadstone Net Lease, Inc. has appointed Richard Imperiale, president and CIO of Uniplan Investment Counsel, Inc., and Joseph Saffire, former CEO of Life Storage, Inc. and current director of Extra Space Storage Inc., to its board of directors. Imperiale is a founding member of Uniplan Investment Counsel and chairman of its investment policy committee. Saffire previously served as Life Storage’s CIO before becoming CEO in 2019, a role he held until the company’s merger with Extra Space Storage Inc. in 2023.
#### Atkins Companies and Denholtz Expand Team at Chappaqua Crossing
Atkins Companies, a multigenerational commercial real estate development, investment, and property management firm, along with Denholtz, a privately held investment management firm, have brought on Tyler Kelsey as operations manager and Priscilla Paredes as property accountant for the Medical Offices at Chappaqua Crossing. The 490,000-square-foot multi-tenant office building was acquired by Atkins Companies and Denholtz in 2023 as part of the mixed-use redevelopment of the former Reader’s Digest global headquarters.
#### Link Logistics Appoints Chief Communications Officer
Link Logistics, a leading operator of last-mile logistics real estate, has appointed Melissa Sachs as chief communications officer. Sachs, who previously served as Link Logistics’ SVP of communications since 2021, will lead the company’s integrated communications and marketing functions in this newly created role.
#### Promotions at Odyssey Retail Advisors
Retail real estate advisory group Odyssey Retail Advisors has promoted Colleen Franke and Sam Masters to senior associates. Franke, a Baltimore native, previously worked in information sales, partnering with consulting and private equity firms on market analysis strategies. Masters originally joined Odyssey Retail Advisors as an intern in 2021 before rising to his new position.
#### Northgate Real Estate Group Leads Distressed Real Estate Market
Northgate Real Estate Group, led by Greg Corbin, reported record-high transaction volume and aggregate dollar value in the distressed real estate market for a second consecutive year. The firm ranked as the top distressed real estate firm in New York City and among the top three in the nation, according to BankruptcyData from New Generation Research. In 2024, Northgate closed 56 deals totaling $625 million and expects an even greater volume of transactions in 2025.
