**NYC Leads Nation in Office Traffic Recovery, According to Placer.ai**

New York City solidified its position as the national leader in office recovery in 2024, according to a new white paper released by Placer.ai. The analysis attributes the city’s rebound partly to strict in-office attendance policies implemented by top financial services firms such as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and JPMorgan Chase.

In 2024, visits to office buildings in New York City were just 13.1% below pre-pandemic levels from 2019 — the smallest gap among major U.S. markets. In contrast, Miami’s office foot traffic remained 16.2% below pre-pandemic levels. For other major markets tracked by Placer.ai, the differences were even more pronounced, with foot traffic down by at least 25% and up to 48.9% compared to pre-2020 levels.

The white paper, titled *Blueprint for Recovery: Lessons From New York City’s Office Comeback*, provides a detailed analysis of how office visitation patterns evolved in New York throughout 2024. It examines changing work routines, including peak visitation days during the week and shifts in commuting habits since the onset of the pandemic.

As NYC heads into 2025, the report suggests that the city may serve as a model for other urban centers looking to bolster their own office recoveries.
