The Adams administration has announced a Request for Proposals (RFP) to redevelop a city-owned site into a major mixed-income residential building. The project is expected to provide more than 1,000 housing units, with at least 25% designated as affordable housing. The site, located at 100 Gold Street in Lower Manhattan, currently houses several city agencies.

Proceeds from the sale of the property will fund the relocation of an existing older adult center, originally built in the 1960s, into a modernized facility. Additionally, city agencies currently operating in the building will be moved to new office spaces.

Following the sale, the developer will be required to provide a temporary leaseback period to allow for the full relocation of agency operations. Proposals are due by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on June 5, with a virtual information session scheduled for March 19.
