Era Ventures, a venture capital firm specializing in the built environment, has announced the launch of its first fund totaling $88 million. The company was founded by Clelia Warburg Peters, an industry veteran with extensive experience in this sector. Era Ventures has already received support from top institutional investors such as ICG Advisors and New York Presbyterian Hospital, as well as companies like The Ashforth Company and BGO.
The firm will be investing across various stages and sectors within the built environment industry. Peters has identified seven key business models that are driving change in this space, including SaaS and AI technologies, marketplaces for real estate transactions, embedded fintech solutions for property management systems, and hardtech ventures utilizing new technologies to optimize physical assets.
Peters is a pioneer investor in proptech (property technology) since its early days and is reportedly the first woman to raise an initial fund of this size within this category. She stated that Era Ventures brings together institutional backing with top-tier venture experience and deep expertise in real estate to drive transformative change within our physical world.
This marks another milestone for women entrepreneurs breaking barriers within traditionally male-dominated industries like finance and technology.
