"New Stadium Debut for Kansas City Current"

A cutting-edge stadium is set to make its mark in downtown Kansas City as the city’s National Women’s Soccer League club, the Kansas City Current, prepares for its debut. The highly-anticipated $117 million CPKC Stadium boasts a capacity of 11,500 and is specifically designed for a professional women’s sports team. This milestone moment will take place on March 16th when the Current takes on Portland Thorns FC in their first home game.

The state-of-the-art facility was developed by an expert project team consisting of J.E. Dunn Construction Group, Monarch Build, and Generator Studio. Located along the south bank of Missouri River within Berkley Riverfront Park’s expansive 17 acres , this stadium serves as a cornerstone for Port KC’s ongoing riverfront development project . In addition to securing rights to nearly 11 adjacent acres at CPKC Stadium in 2023 ,the team has also secured development and incentive terms for an $800 million mixed-use neighborhood .
