Pickleball has become a popular sport, evident by the conversion of many tennis courts in local city parks. However, there is another racquet game gaining traction in Mexico and South America called padel. This sport requires specialized facilities with walls that allow for playing off them, similar to squash.
The King of Padel, based in San Diego, is now expanding to San Antonio and bringing both indoor padel and pickleball courts to Fairchild Park on the East Side. The new facility will be located at 314 Nolan St., previously used as storage for Crusing Kitchen’s food trucks. Valued at over $7 million and spanning almost 100,000 square feet, the facility will feature six padel courts and eight pickleball courts available for reservation by the hour or longer periods of time.
This exciting addition near Fairchild Park was recently announced on Connect CRE.
