A seasoned investor in the hospitality industry is eager to revitalize La Villita Assembly Hall, a unique venue with an iconic inverted dome roof. MLSA Ventures has successfully secured ownership of the building and intends to enhance its connection to the popular River Walk area. Despite previous attempts from interested parties, the site has remained dormant for several years.
According to reports from The San Antonio Business Journal, MLSA’s vision includes incorporating new dining and beverage options into this historic village located just steps away from both River Walk and Hemisfair.
Constructed in 1959, La Villita Assembly Hall predates San Antonio’s 1968 World’s Fair by nearly a decade. This expansive 25,000-square-foot space has hosted various events such as festivals and concerts throughout its history. In light of this recent acquisition by MLSA officials have revealed plans for extensive redevelopment efforts set to take place in 2024 with construction expected as early as 2025.
