The NYC Department of Health and Hygiene has secured a 17,708 square foot office lease at The Paxton in Brooklyn through the efforts of CBRE. This newly developed property will serve as the agency’s new location, occupying the entire fifth floor. With an average asking rent of $55 per square foot, this move was made possible by CBRE’s team led by Brad Gerla with support from Jon Cope and David Katz. Representing Jenel Management Corp., ownership of The Paxton, Gerla states that “the City agency required new space for its growing department and the newly built property in the heart of Brooklyn was ideal for its needs.” He adds that their recent success includes leasing 56,000 rsf to GSA with only three floors remaining on top featuring two private terraces.
